Gaelscoil Philib Barún

Tuairisc ar an dTógáil|Building Report

Tá an tógáil nach mór críochnaithe faoin am seo sa scoil. Bhí sé deacair ar oidí agus daltaí fhaid is a bhí an t-athchóiriú inmheánach ar siúl. Is féidir linn a rá anois go bhfuil gach seomra mór a dhóthain do líon na ndaltaí a bheidh ag freastal ar Ghaelscoil Philib Barún.

Building work has been almost completed on the school’s temporary buildings. Every room can adequately accommodate all the pupils wishing to enrol in Gaelscoil Philib Barún.

Ní hionann sé sin is a rá nach mbeidh an bord ag leanúint lena fheachtas ar son scoil bhuan i comhphairtíocht le pobal na Trá Móire atá ag lorg áiseanna pobail ar láthair na scoile. Tá sé beartaithe againn cead a fháil ón Roinn Oideachais agus Eolaíochta ár dtionscnamh tógála a chur ar aghaidh go dtí staid ailtireachta agus pleanálá mar a thugann an Roinn air. Le linn na hoibre athchóirithe ba léir dúinn na lochtanna atá ag na foirgnimh réamdhéanta atá againn agus deimhníonn sé go bhfuil airgead caite ar a lethéid curtha amú. Tá an coiste poiblíochta ag leanúint ar aghaidh lena fheachtas le stocaireacht i measc polaiteoirí. Más suim cabhrú linn is féidir freastal ar an gcéad cruinniú eile ag an gcoiste poiblíochta Samhain 19 in Óstan an Gran.

This does not mean however that the school community will cease its ongoing campaign for a permanent school in partnership with Tramore Community Development Committee who wish to build a community hall on the school site. The focus now is on progressing the school building application to architectural planning stage within the government school building programme. Recent renovations to our buildings have shown up many flaws in the prefabricated classrooms we currently occupy and underline the folly of state investment in structures that aren’t designed to last. If you would like to help with the publicity committee’s work in highlighting the case for a permanent school come along to the next meeting campaign meeting on Thursday Nov. 19th in the Grand Hotel at meeting.
