Cead Pleanála le lorg ag Gaelscoil|Gaelscoil to seek Planning Permission
Fuair Gaelscoil Philib Barún cead ón Roinn Oideachais is Scileanna cead pleanála a lorg do scoil 8 seomra agus áiseanna coimhdeacha ar a shuíomh ag Cruabhaile Uachtarach, An Trá Mhór.
Tá foireann dearaidh na scoile, faoi cheannas Ailtirí dhb, le plean mionsonraithe a chur faoi bhráid Comhairle Chondae Phort Láirge i Mí Dheireadh Fómhair 2013.
Roimh cur isteach an iarratais cuirfear na pleananna faoi bhráid an phobail agus páirtithe leasmhara ag an scoil ar an 26ú lá Meán Fómhair ag 7 i.n.
Is mór an dul chun cinn é seo do Ghaelscoil Philib Barún atá 28 bliana i gcóiriocht shealadach. Osclaíodh an scoil i 1985 i dteach na Trá Móire agus le 29 dalta. Sa bhliain 1989 bhog an scoil trasna Bhóthar na Linne go Teach Stella Maris. Faoi dheireadh cheannaigh an Roinn suiomh ag Cruabhaile Uachtarach agus iarradh ar an mBord seomraí reamhdhéanta a chur ar an láthair go dtí go raibh an foirgneamh buan tógtha. Tar eis 10 mbliana agus 1.8 milliún caite táthar le foirgneamh buan a thógail ar nios lú airgid ná mar atácaite go dtí seo ar an gcóiriocht shealadach.
Nuair atá ceadanna reachtúla faighte ag an bhfoireann dearaidh tá súil againn go mbeidh an scoil curtha ar liosta tógála go luath mar chuid de phacáiste spreagthaí.
Gaelscoil Philib Barún has received sanction from the Department of Education and Skills to seek planning permission for an 8 classroom school building and ancillary facilities on its site at Crobally Upper, Tramore.
The school’s design team, lead by dhb Architects, Waterford, will submit a detailed application with Waterford County Council in October.
In advance of this the plans will be publicly presented to the school community and to all interested parties at the school on Thursday 26th September 2013 at 7pm.
This is a highly significant development as Gaelscoil Philib Barún is 28 years in temporary accommodation. The school was opened in 1985 in Tramore House with 29 pupils and moved across Pond Road to Stella Maris House in 1989. The Department of Education and Skills eventually purchased a site at Crobally Upper in 2003 for a permanent Gaelscoil but asked the school to put prefabs on the site temporarily while a new building was being built. 10 years on and 1.8 million euro later a new building will finally be built for less than what has already been spent on its temporary accommodation!!!
While statutory approvals are being sought it is hoped that Gaelscoil Philib Barún will be included in the next list of schools to be added to the Department building list as part of a stimulus package.
