Turas go dtí an Dáil – Suimiúil gan a bheith Rathúil

D’fhreastal Rang 6 inné ar Dáil Éireann le bheith i láthair nuair a d’ardaigh John Halligan ceist na scoile leis an Aire Stait sa Roinn Oideachais an Teachta Ciarán Cannon. D’ardaigh John na pointí ar fad a theastaigh uainn ach ní raibh freagra sásúil ón Aire. Is cosúil go bhfuil dhá liosta tógála ann dar leis an Aire Stáit, ceann a thógfar agus ceann nach dtógfar. Sinne ar an gceann deireannach faraoir. Cuireann aineolas an Aire alltacht orainn nuair a luaigh sé go raibh staid ár seomraí ar chaighdean ard agus na raibh sé ar eolas go raibh fadhbanna géara leis an bhfoirgneamh. Is féidir an díospóireachta a rochtain anseo.

Bhí am suimiúil ag na daltaí le John Halligan agus thug sé deochanna dóibh ar fad agus thaispeán sé sinn timpeall. Chríochnaigh an lá dóibh le turasanna go dtí na musaeim agus an dánlann náisiúnta. Bhí an turas urraithe ag Coiste na dTuistí.

Interesting if not Successful Trip to Dáil.

Sixth class attended Dail Éireann yesterday to witness Minister of State Ciarán Cannon’s reply to Deputy John Halligan. According to the Minister of State there are in fact two building lists one being built and another which the DES has not decided to build but might build. We are unfortunately on the latter. The full reply can be accessed here.

The pupils were hosted by John Halligan TD who walked them around the building and also posing for a photograph and getting them each a drink. The trip had begun at 6:30 for everyone up from Tramore. We went on to visit the Natural History Museum and had a tour of the National Art Gallery. The trip was sponsored by the Parents Association.
