Survey from National Parents Council
The National Parents Council have asked the school parents to participate in an online survey regarding school admission policies and practices. Further details are shown below.
Dear Parents,
I am conducting research on school enrolment practices and policies. I would like to determine your views about and experiences of school admission policies and practices. As you are aware some school enrolment practices can disadvantage certain children and children do not always receive a school place at the school of their choice.
Some schools have more applicants than places available and use enrolment criteria to prioritise applicants. I would like to know if this has happened at your school and if so what criteria were used.
The survey also asks questions about whether the school your child attends is your nearest school and whether this is your school of choice for your child. Your responses to this survey will enable me to determine what enrolment practices are important to you and what practices may have prevented your child from attending the school that you wanted them to attend.
The survey takes less than five minutes to complete. I hope you would like to get involved and to have your views heard by completing the survey.
The closing date for completion of the survey is 15 November 2012 and it can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/schoolenrolments
Best wishes,
